In March 2019, the eastern parts of Zimbabwe were pummeled by heavy downpours and strong wind gusts as Cyclone Idai made landfall. The cyclone tore down thousands of homes and schools, caused many fatalities and led to loss of infrastructure and livelihoods. The damage was unprecedented. Two years later, survivors are still struggling to rebuild their lives.
